Silver Moonlight’s Herd

This is one of the exciting adventures of Silver Moonlight and his herd. I hope you like it! ;)

Part 1: Welcome to the Herd

Silver Moonlight (that’s me): A strong, brave, and kind stallion that is the leader of the herd.

Rainbow: My lead mare.  She is smart and kind.

Joy: She is Rainbow’s silver foal.

Midnight: An adventurous black foal.

All was peaceful and quiet in Dusty Palomino Meadow as I watched my herd happily.  Rainbow was prancing and Joy was playing tag with Midnight.   I looked around.  Everything seemed perfect.  But then I heard frightened whinnies.  I looked at the foals. They were very scared.  I galloped to them.  Rainbow came with me.  I looked through the tall grass and saw why the foals were frightened.  Hiding in the weeds was a large rattle snake!  I did not know what to do.  If I charged the snake I could be bitten, but I could not leave it there.  Suddenly I had an idea.  I picked up a stone in my mouth and dropped it near the snake.  The rock landed so close it almost hit him.  Rainbow reared up on her hind legs to help me scare him away.  The foals started to whinny.  The snake slithered away quickly.  We all started to graze.  My herd was safe.  For now.
